A Transfer of Equity is a change in the co-ownership status of a property where at least one original owner remains. This is a common occurrence during a divorce, where a co-owner is removed from the deeds or upon a marriage where a spouse is added.
A Transfer of Ownership is a complete transfer of the property. This is often used when a parent wants to gift a property to their adult child.
