SEND Tribunal

You can appeal a decision made by the Local Authority regarding your child’s EHCP to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.

The SEND Tribunal has the power to order a needs assessment or the provision in the EHCP.  A tribunal hearing can be intimidating for the most confident person and particularly when emotions are running high. We can represent you at preliminary hearings and if your matter proceeds to a fully contested final hearing we work with a range of specialist education barristers who can represent you and be the voice for you and your child at your hearing.

We can assist you in making a complaint to the Local Authority when your child has a specified need that is not being met or regarding transport.  The EHCP may dictate that your child should be receiving physiotherapy. If this is not happening, for whatever reason, then you can make a complaint to ensure it is reinstated or to recover costs that you have had to pay out yourself.

If your complaint is not dealt with satisfactorily we can enter a legal process called Judicial review where the Court is involved in reviewing the decisions of the Local Authority.
