Calendar House Friday

Avon Tyrrell HouseOn Friday 21st November Louisa Hollely, Partner and Head of our Criminal Team,  attended the Business Collective’s 3rd Annual Conference at Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest.

The Business Collective is a Hampshire based membership group for organisations who wish to engage in responsible practice and collaborate with like-minded organisations.  The topic for the annual conference this year was supply chains and interesting talks on this were given by Will Hughes the Business Excellence Director from Osborne Property Service and Paul Barrett, Brand Manager for Fyffes.

The Collective supports a particular charity at each annual conference and this year it was UK Youth who are based at Avon Tyrrell.  David Watts, Director of the charity told us about the invaluable work they do supporting young people through a range of innovative programmes to gain life-skills that build confidence, resilience and make them more employable.

We also heard from some of the other charity members of the Collective: Trinity Winchester, Blue Apple Theatre and the Pink Place.

We had a tour of the beautiful grounds at Avon Tyrrell and learnt about the history of the house – a calendar house built with 365 windows, 52 rooms, 12 chimneys, 4 wings and 7 external doors.  The Business Collective is organising a volunteering day at Avon Tyrell in  February 2015.
