Shaun Underhill, head of civil and family litigation at Shentons, has been appointed a Deputy District Judge by the Lord Chief Justice.
The process was rigorous, involving a detailed application exam, strenuous interview and two mock hearings where he sat as the judge. Each of the candidates was scrutinised and measured against a set of core abilities, including intellectual capacity, an ability to understand and deal fairly, authority, efficiency, and ability to communicate and had to display sound personal qualities.
Robert Kerr, Shentons partner said “we are absolutely delighted for Shaun, he has achieved his appointment as a result of many years of dedicated and hard work”.
Shaun will sit on the Western Circuit in due course.
