Shentons are immensely proud to announce that last night we were awarded the prize for
Dementia Friendly Business of the Year. A great night was had by all!
Elisabeth Pollard of Shentons joined others from the Dementia Friendly Winchester action group in handing out balloons to the businesses in Winchester who are part of Dementia Friendly Winchester to help raise awareness of Dementia Awareness Week this week. The group were lucky enough to be joined by the Mayor, Councillor Angela Clear.
Shentons is part of Dementia Friendly Winchester and we are supporting Dementia Awareness Week.
This is the Shentons team for the clay pigeon shoot last week. One of many teams for a charity event in aid of Cancer Research UK.
They managed to hit a few, and not each other!
The Shentons team had a brilliant time climbing over super high inflatables as part of the Gung Ho 5k on Saturday. It was a hot sunny day but they all made it.
We are waiting for confirmation of how much we raised for our charity of the year Winchester Youth Counselling, but it’s not too late to donate – https://www.justgiving.com/shentonsgungho
On Saturday 7th May 2016 twelve foolish partners and staff will be taking part in the Gung Ho 5k challenge to raise money for Winchester Youth Counselling.
If you wish to donate, we would be delighted. Please click on the following link which will take you to our Just Giving page.
Shentons is pleased to confirm its sponsorship which has enabled the appearance of the Spitfire Sisters at the Armed Forces Day event which is to be held at Peninsula Barracks, Romsey Road, Winchester on Sunday, 19th June 2016. (We cannot promise they will appear in the bathtub though!)
This is going to be a family day full of events and fun things to do and see. Come and visit us at our stand at the event.
We are also proud to be members of the Armed Forces Legal Action Group Scheme which offers a discount on our normal fees to members of the Armed Forces and some other groups with Forces connections. For full details of the Scheme and our offer please go to our website News page (under Law Talk Issue 2 2016).
Winchester, in Hampshire, has been named the best city to live in thanks to its outdoor spaces, community spirit and quality of living.
The historic cathedral city was called “practically perfect” by the Sunday Times Best Places To Live guide.
All year round there is something going on for people to take an interest in, with markets and festivals and all sorts of lovely things, and of course the people are so nice and friendly.
It offers a tasty slice of authentic history, with great transport links and fine schools.
The city, which is home to about 45,000 people and has an unemployment rate of just 0.6%.
Shentons was pleased to support Peter Symonds College, Winchester, by having a stand and providing advice on careers in the legal profession to their students at the College’s Progression Fair on 15th March 2016. The Head of Careers at the College wrote to say:
Thank you for attending the recent Progression Fair at Peter Symonds College. We really appreciate your support and involvement in what is an important and sometimes perplexing time for sixth form students when exploring their post 18 options. We had over 2000 students visit the fair, with lots of positive feedback from students and exhibitors.
