Our job is to protect you as far as possible from the stress caused by conflict and legal problems.
We can help to prevent issues from arising and to solve problems which have occurred. Our ethos is to carry out the job thoroughly and with compassion to ensure that your matter is resolved as smoothly as possible, whatever the circumstances. Established in Winchester in the 1700’s, we work with people and businesses, some over many generations. You can put your trust in us for the legal advice you require. Shentons is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority No. 60916 and the applicable professional rules are the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct, which can be viewed on the SRA’s website.
We are proud to have achieved the Lexcel quality standard. Lexcel is developed specifically for the legal profession and, as such, covers all services provided by the firm, with the exception of Mediation. It is an optional, recognised accreditation scheme for law firms which gives assurance that a practice meets high client care and business management standards. In addition, the firm has achieved the Conveyancing Quality Standard, which specifically relates to Residential Conveyancing and the Wills and Inheritance Quality Standard, which relates to Wills, Trusts and Probate work.
The firm has members who are on the Law Society’s Specialist Panels including the Family Law Panel. Several are members of the Charities Law Association, Agricultural Law Association, Equine Lawyers Association, Employment Lawyers Association, the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners, Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
All our Family Solicitors are members of Resolution which has a Code of Practice which encourages a constructive and conciliatory approach to resolving legal problems arising in families. We offer a number of methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution including Mediation and Collaborative Law. Additionally the firm is able to offer civil, employment, and commercial mediation through its CEDR accredited mediator.
Shentons undertakes publicly funded work in Family, Mediation, Crime and Housing at the specialist help level.
